Andrew Steeves, B.Sc., RFT
SENIOR REGIONAL PROJECT MANAGER
Andrew Steeves is a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) and serves as a Senior Regional Project Manager overseeing operations in the South Cariboo region. He has been with Zanzibar Holdings Ltd. since 2018 and has played a key role with Cariboo Carbon Solutions since its inception, leading large-scale silviculture and wildfire restoration initiatives across British Columbia.
Andrew holds a Forest Resources Technology Diploma from Vancouver Island University and has been working in the forestry sector since 2008. He began his career as a tree planter and has progressed through roles including crew foreperson and project lead, building a comprehensive, field-driven understanding of silviculture operations.
He brings extensive experience in silviculture project management, wildfire restoration, planting program implementation, site preparation, block layout and development, and operational logistics. Andrew also leads the conifer seed collection division at Zanzibar and Cariboo Carbon Solutions, supporting seed security initiatives and sourcing seed for future reforestation programs across the province.
His certifications include danger tree assessment, S100 wildfire suppression, and accreditation as a silviculture surveyor. Andrew is recognized for his ability to deliver complex, multi-phase reforestation projects, from seed collection through to planting and long-term monitoring, while maintaining a strong focus on ecological integrity, operational efficiency, and client outcomes.
Andrew is deeply committed to advancing reforestation practices in wildfire-impacted landscapes and continues to contribute to the development of resilient, climate-adapted forests across BC.

Connection to the Outdoors
Outside of work, Andrew has a strong connection to the outdoors and spends much of his time exploring British Columbia’s landscapes. Whether it’s hiking, camping, or getting into the mountains for cross-country or downhill skiing, he values being outside in all seasons.
He is often accompanied by his three dogs—Panda, Omar, and Seba—who are regular companions on his outdoor adventures and even make appearances on reforestation projects. His connection to the land extends beyond recreation and is closely tied to his passion for forestry and commitment to managing and restoring healthy, resilient ecosystems for future generations.

Andrew lives and breathes forestry. With a lifelong commitment to learning, he is constantly expanding his knowledge of forest ecosystems, biodiversity, and sustainable land management to support healthier landscapes for future generations.
Basketball & Coaching
Outside of forestry, Andrew is actively involved in coaching basketball and giving back to his local community. He is passionate about developing young athletes, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and work ethic—values that translate directly into his professional life.
