How to fund forest projects
Reforestation isn’t just about planting trees, it’s about restoring ecosystems, supporting communities, and addressing climate change in a meaningful, lasting way.
Thank you for your contribution to our shared mission!
Across the world, organizations help gather funding to restore forests in areas that need it most. These contributions can come from anyone: individuals, community groups, non-profits, small businesses, and large corporations. The number of trees being planted, and where they are planted, helps determine how funding is directed, ensuring that each project has the greatest possible environmental and social impact.
CCS plays a key role in making this happen. Rather than focusing on smaller, one-off contributions, CCS specializes in bringing together large-scale reforestation opportunities. By working in partnership with organizations that collect and channel donations, CCS helps match significant funding to impactful, on-the-ground projects.

Vancouver Island Silvicultural Restoration
Needs Funding
In 2023, we launched this initiative on Vancouver Island to support private landowners, municipalities, and First Nations communities in restoring diverse, resilient forests on their lands. The program is also designed to test an important idea: that reforestation—combined with thoughtful, recurring management—can be an effective long-term solution for certain invasive plant infestations.
Beyond improving habitat for native plants and wildlife, this work delivers broader benefits. The project supports Indigenous enterprises, enhances the natural beauty of the land, and creates meaningful opportunities for education, training, and hands-on stewardship.
Our invasive plant management projects are seeking an additional dedicated sponsor to help protect newly planted seedlings across Vancouver Island. These seedlings are vulnerable to being overtaken by competing vegetation in the early stages of establishment, and ongoing maintenance is critical to ensuring long-term forest recovery and restoration success. While planting is a key first step, sustained stand maintenance is what ultimately determines whether these ecosystems thrive.
We thank Tree Canada, Reforest Australia and the 2 Billion Tree Program for their generous funding for the current on-the-ground work on Vancouver Island.
